Most, if not all concrete fire pits on the market today, are made from GFRC. What makes one fire pit heavier than another boils down to the size, shape, and density of the fire pit. Some fire pits are designed to be more dense (heavier and more compact) while others are designed to be less dense (lighter and less compact). Regardless, GFRC has two to four times more flexural strength than conventional unreinforced concrete. This means that GFRC is stronger and more flexible, while ordinary unreinforced concrete is weaker and more brittle.
